Project Overview
A smart city energy station in an urban wetland park, utilizing a complete 360-degree BIPV building envelope to achieve zero emissions. The project demonstrates Sunlit's comprehensive engineering capability across roof tiles, transparent solar canopy, and solar curtain wall facade.
Project Challenge
The municipality required a zero-emission utility substation for a new urban wetland park. The goal was twofold: the building needed to be 100% self-sufficient, and it had to serve as a public educational landmark for green energy. Traditional solar panels were visually unacceptable for a park setting. Furthermore, the limited roof footprint meant that power generation had to be expanded beyond just the roof to meet the energy demands.
Sunlit Solution
We delivered a total BIPV solution that transformed the entire structure into a 360-degree power generator. The pitched roof section utilizes aesthetic solar roof tiles. The flat extension features transparent solar glass, allowing natural light to penetrate while generating power. The vertical walls are clad in specialized solar curtain wall modules—some with a sleek dark finish, others with custom-printed glass to blend with the park scenery. This pilot project perfectly demonstrates our comprehensive engineering and supply chain capabilities.
