Project Overview

A custom-colored red BIPV project for heritage and high-end communities with strict architectural guidelines requiring traditional terracotta or red clay roofs. This 15 kW pilot proves that high-performance solar can seamlessly adapt to the most demanding aesthetic standards.

Project Challenge

Many high-end communities, resorts, and historical districts have strict architectural guidelines requiring traditional terracotta or red clay roofs. In these zones, standard blue or black solar panels are strictly prohibited as they destroy the visual harmony of the architecture. The client needed a renewable energy solution that could entirely disguise itself as a traditional red roof without compromising power output.

Sunlit Solution

We manufactured and deployed a custom-colored red BIPV system specifically engineered for this project. To achieve a 100% uniform aesthetic, we supplied high-efficiency red active solar tiles alongside perfectly color-matched inactive (dummy) tiles for complex edges, cuts, and non-solar areas. The result is a stunning, vibrant red roof that effortlessly mimics traditional terracotta. This 15 kW pilot project generates around 16,500 kWh annually.

Architectural Outcome

Custom red active tiles are paired with color-matched inactive elements at complex edges and cuts, giving this reference a terracotta-style roof palette rather than a standard blue-panel appearance.
