Project Overview

A luxury villa in Beijing featuring a highly sophisticated multi-hip roof design with chimneys and large skylights. The project demonstrates how Lumina Slate can navigate complex roof geometry while delivering a 13 kW high-capacity invisible solar system.

Project Challenge

The villa features a highly sophisticated multi-hip roof design, punctuated by chimneys and large skylights. Traditional rectangular solar panels cannot efficiently cover these irregular trapezoidal roof faces without leaving awkward gaps and wasting valuable space. The client demanded a 13 kW high-capacity solar system but absolutely refused the visually disruptive, bulky metal frames of traditional BAPV systems.

Sunlit Solution

We deployed the Lumina Slate (Pro+) series. Its modular design and custom flashing allowed our installation team to navigate seamlessly around the chimneys and skylights. By covering the irregular facets edge-to-edge, we maximized the active roof area to 255 sq.m. The finished roof maintains a sleek, modern, flush aesthetic that perfectly matches the villa's high-end architectural style, while seamlessly generating 15,600 kWh annually.

Architectural Outcome

The project record shows modular solar tiles following multi-hip roof faces around existing chimneys and large skylights, creating a dark roof surface without the appearance of a separate rack-mounted array.
